Biography:

Nathan Nowack

Photography has been a passion of mine since I took my first Polaroid when I was 6.  I've always enjoyed how photos can bring up such creativity in a person as well as great emotion too.  Photography is truly about capturing the moment and documenting true life.  Memories are delicate, and can fade away with time.  Now becoming a professional photographer, my goal has been to create long lasting images with artistic style, vision, and emotional connection that can last a lifetime.

With a degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University, I always knew I would start my own business someday to serve the community.  During my time in beautiful scenic Colorado, I started to appreciate the artsy side of things, buying my first 35mm, using a panoramic camera, and becoming the editor of my fraternities biannual newsletters.

As I moved to California, I worked as a DVD Programmer/Producer and helped to create over 600 DVD's including the Simpsons, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, educational DVD's, Shrek games, and more.  I continued to take photos and travel, some of which included Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Alaska, North Carolina, New York, Costa Rica, and Europe.  I was truly happy when I was taking photos, so I decided to pursue photography full time.

After setting up www.nathannowack.com I continued to take 2 years of college level photography classes at Santa Monica College. I loved learning as much as possible about photography, while shooting almost everyday.  I joined the newspaper staff for The Corsair and enjoyed it immensely.  I later served as the Photo Editor for the newspaper as well as managing 30 photographers and their weekly assignments.  At the end of my term in Spring 2009, I was awarded the Bryan McLellan Memorial Scholarship for photographic excellence for my dedicated work.Adopted from Korea as "Sang Kil Lee" This is my favorite worst family photo.

Finally, I started Weddingsbynathan.com and incorporated as Nathan Nowack Photography LLC.  I have marketed myself as a Photojournalistic Style Wedding and Portrait Photographer.  My photography portfolio grew, as well did my clients and contacts.  I enjoy meeting new people and sharing the art of photography.  I always aspire to create amazing unique photos for every client whether it be a 600 person wedding or just portraits with your dog.  I treat everyone with the same friendly, personable attitude to make the session as stressfree and fun as possible.

I've had the pleasure of capturing everything from weddings, travel, corporate headshots, bar mitzvahs, family portraits, and even some commercial photography.  I am also the co-host of an online photography series called Photosodes.com where we share information on photography products, tips, and experiences.
